Symptoms of a computer related repetitive stress injury

Do you work on a computer all day? If so, this probably means you spend a lot of time typing and navigating a mouse. While this sounds harmless enough, especially when compared to more physically demanding jobs, it's important to realize that this could eventually lead to a repetitive stress injury.

Over time, a repetitive stress injury has a way of getting worse. Soon enough, you could realize that you are in so much pain that you can't work any longer.

There are many symptoms associated with a computer-related repetitive stress injury, including but not limited to:

-- Discomfort accompanied by stiffness, tightness, and burning in the fingers, wrists, and hands.

-- Numbness and coldness in the hands.

-- Loss of strength in the hands.

-- Loss of hand coordination.

-- Pain that gets worse when you use the computer.

-- An urge to massage your wrists and hands for comfort.

-- Pain that moves to the shoulders, neck, and back during computer use.

In most cases, rest will help you recover form these symptoms. However, as you know, you can't get much rest if using a computer is part of your job.

If you have suffered a computer-related repetitive stress injury as the result of your career, you may be able to file a workers' compensation claim. Being able to prove that the injury occurred on the job is the most important aspect of your claim.

By filing a claim in Omaha, you hope that you're able to receive compensation as you take time off of work to recover.
