Here are several power drill safety tips to keep in mind:

Wear protective gear. This typically includes gloves to protect your hands and goggles to protect your eyes.
Don’t wear loose clothing. With this, you have to worry about your clothes getting caught in the drill bit.
Secure the piece that you’re working on. For example, you may need to clamp down a piece of wood before drilling.
Watch your hands. It’s easy to assume you’ll keep your hands out of the way, but this is easier said than done.
Read the safety instructions included with your power drill. Neglecting to do this could lead you to make a simple mistake.
Let others know that you’re using a power drill. This will ensure that they keep their distance, thus reducing the risk of bumping into you and causing an accident.
